Two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ came as the spiritual King David (
Isa 9:6–7;
Lk 1:31–32). This meant He would do things as David, the second king of Israel, did.
Since David became king at the age of 30, Christ was baptized and began His ministry at the age of 30 (
Lk 3:21–23). King David reigned over Israel for 40 years. So Christ should have carried out His gospel ministry also for 40 years. However, 2,000 years ago, Jesus preached the New Covenant for only three years until His crucifixion (
Lk 13:6–7), leaving 37 years of King David’s reign unfulfilled. However, God promised to accomplish this prophecy (
Isa 9:7).
The Bible explains that Christ will come to this earth a second time to bring salvation. The way for us to recognize Second Coming Christ is through the completion of King David’s throne: being baptized at the age of 30 and preaching for 37 years. Additionally, Second Coming Christ must bring a definite sign for us to recognize Him: the eternal, everlasting covenant—the New Covenant Passover (
Isa 55:3;
Heb 13:20;
Lk 22:19–20).
Christ Ahnsahnghong was baptized in 1948 at the age of 30 years old. The year of His baptism also coincided with the lesson of the fig tree Jesus told His disciples concerning His second coming.
To know the time of Christ’s second coming, Jesus said to learn the lesson from the fig tree. The fig tree represents Israel (
Jer 24:5). So, after the fig tree comes to life, then Christ will come. Israel, the fig tree, was cut down in A.D. 70, and the Israelites became refugees without a country of their own. However, Israel was restored in 1948. This miracle occurred as a sign to the world that Second Coming Christ had appeared.
To complete King David’s reign, Christ Ahnsahnghong preached the New Covenant for 37 years before ascending to Heaven. For this reason, the World Mission Society Church of God believes Christ Ahnsahnghong is the spiritual King David and Second Coming Christ who has brought us salvation.
